Infomir is continuing to protect its rights
In September 2019, the District Court of Bremen confirmed by judgement by default its preliminary injunction from January 2019, prohibiting a German distributor the sale of set-top boxes that wrongfully emulate MAC addresses assigned to Infomir and/or on which those MAC addresses were imprinted.
Early in 2019, Infomir obtained preliminary injunctions against two German distributors who sold set-top boxes of a Korean manufacturer. In both cases, the Court concluded that the disputed set-top boxes unlawfully used MAC addresses of the Infomir MAG set-top boxes when establishing a connection with IPTV servers.
While one of the distributors accepted the preliminary injunction as a final and binding decision and agreed to inform Infomir about set-top boxes of other manufacturers that use Infomir MAC addresses, a lawsuit had to be filed against the other distributor.
With the judgment by default by the German court, the other distributor is now also finally prohibited from selling such IPTV set-top boxes.
